Course Content:

By the end of this course, the student will understand the history of local anesthetic agents, their neurophysiology, the components of nerve tissue, the pharmacology of local anesthetic agents, the pharmacology of vasoconstrictors, the clinical effects of specific anesthetic agents, the instruments necessary for local anesthesia, methods for anxiety control and management, the physical and psychological evaluation of patients prior to local anesthesia, basic injection techniques, anesthesia techniques applied to the maxilla, anesthesia techniques applied to the mandible, supplementary anesthesia techniques, local complications of local anesthetics, systemic complications of local anesthetics, and how to manage these complications.
